The affiliates of the Sasol Women's League in the Limpopo Stream will play their second-last league matches this weekend. Most of the matches will be played on Saturday, while only one fixture is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
All eyes will be on the match between Two for Joy Ladies and Merwe United Ladies that will be played at the Tshirenzheni Grounds on Saturday. A quick glance at the track records of the two teams shows that Merwe United will be lucky if by chance they manage to go back to Malamulele with a point in hand. Collecting the maximum points at stake is a must for Two for Joy. The team from the Nzhelele Valley is closely contesting for the league title with 31 points, three behind the pace setters, Lacoste Morning Stars.
Should they fail to beat Two for Joy on Saturday, Merwe United will need a miracle to survive the relegation axe at the end of the season. Merwe are still to win a league match this season. They are rooted at the bottom of the log with two points.
Sisters FC will fight for league points against Rodadau FC at the Nwamitwa Grounds outside Tzaneen. Sisters are in the right frame of mind after beating Lacoste Morning Stars 4-3 at the same venue last Sunday.
Sealene Ladies will enjoy the home-ground advantage in their match against the University of Limpopo FC, which will be played at the Lulekani Stadium in Phalaborwa. Mandebele Happy Fighters Ladies will host Kanatla Ladies at the Groblersdal Stadium.
Marumo Gallants will be on the road this weekend. They will undertake a journey to Jane Furse, where their match against Seven Stars Ladies will be played at the Jane Furse Stadium. Capricorn Stars Sport Development will have a date with Copper Belts at the Seshego Stadium.
The only match that will be played on Sunday will be between Tshandama Young Stars and Real Mighty Girls at the Tshandama Grounds.
