Following his debut album, Don Dipa, last year, Phumudzo Ramovha, aka Troy Dipa, has returned with a buzzing new single, called Far away, which features prominent musician Mizo Phyll. The single has already started making its mark since its release on Thursday, 12 May.

Troy Dipa, a resident of Makonde in Thohoyandou, made a splash in the Limpopo music industry last year when he released his hit single, Soko, featuring Mulanga Ralioma, aka Kash Flow.

He says that the latest collaboration on the single with Mizo Phyll touches on fantasies of true love, going to faraway places with a loved one and forgetting the everyday life. He defines the song as an anthem for celebrating love and the ladies. "The melodic Afro pop sounds of the song brings a certain vibe; an inviting and calm sensation on its first listen."

Troy Dipa runs his own recording studio, called Syndicate Music, in partnership with Limpopo's prominent label, called Uniswa. He has worked with well-known artists in the past, such as Rude Kid, Unarine and Maitele Wawe.

He is greatly inspired by real-life experiences and the challenges he faced, which influence him as an artist and the music he creates. He combines elements of Afro pop and Venda rap, which lends a vibey, and at the same time soulful, sound to his music.

"I prefer not to sit and think about what to write, but to just be in the moment when I make music. Everything just comes naturally, the words, the tunes and all the other elements. Music provides an uplifting experience in life and teaches us to always look for challenges. I aim to spread love and positivity throughout the continent through my music," he said.
