Madombidzha Try Again were crowned champions of the Heritage Soccer Challenge after defeating Gogobole Home Defenders 2-1 in the final played at the Tshiozwi Grounds on Sunday.

The first half of the match was characterised by wasted chances, with the home team dominating proceedings. Happy Ramudzwagi of Try Again was unlucky when his volley hit the crossbar and bounced out for a goal kick. A similar situation occurred in the 18th minute, when Anza Tshishivheli caught the keeper off-guard, but the ball was cleared off the goal line.

Try Again opened their account in the 24th minute, with Happy Ramudzwagi scoring after receiving a square pass from Vhusani Manyaga.

Defenders approached the second half aggressively, with their strikers, Phethani Sikhwivhilu and Thuso Mashau, frequently invading the opponents' danger area. This forced the defenders of Try Again to abandon their positions to assist their shaky defence.

Defenders equalised when Thabelo Tharini wrong-footed the keeper with a marvellous shot. However, their celebrations were short-lived as Maemu Musiamo of Try Again scored his team's second goal. Shortly afterwards, Hulisani Ramavhale of Defenders had a chance to equalise, but his shot was palmed away by the keeper.
