The much-talked about SAB League Tshakhuma derby between Tshakhuma FC KK and Maweja Takers FC at the Tshisimani grounds ended in a goalless draw.

The game was a balanced affair in the first 20 minutes, but Takers created more scoring opportunities.

KK started to demonstrate their rough skills in the middle of the first half. The Zimbabwean referee, Mr Mbonisi Ndlovu, calmed the situation by reprimanding Tshiwela Ndou with a card. This after Ndou had brutally tackled Khumbudzo Muvhango from behind.

The keeper of KK, Thabelo Mmbooi, made his presence felt in the 34th minute. Takers were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Khumbudzo Muvhango unleashed from the set piece. Mmbooi impressed even the opponents when he braved the hot shot and executed a brilliant save.

The captain of KK, Unarine Mukhavhuli, was lucky to go away with a yellow card. He handled the ball intentionally but the referee felt for him as he only flashed a yellow card when everyone thought he would be taking an early shower.

Both sides effected some changes to their starting lineup in the last half. Takers enjoyed ball possession throughout the last half, but they were unfortunate. The players and officials of KK confronted the match officials shortly after the final whistle, saying they wanted to lodge a protest.

They alleged that Takers had fielded seven over-aged players, two more than the required number. The match officials refused to register the protest, saying they should have lodged it before the game kicked off.
