Tshedza Mudau, an 18-year-old resident of Khubvi village, has just been selected as a finalist in the Miss Teen Universe South Africa beauty pageant.

This young woman, who is bubbling with excitement over her good fortune, is a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) student at the University of Limpopo. She said that, as a model who had previously won other pageant titles, she was geared to nabbing this one as well. "I have always believed in myself, and the people who know how good I really am at modelling energise me with their motivation," she said.

Tshedza's accolades include being crowned Miss Tshilamba Personality 2019, Miss Face of Makhado 2019, Miss Khubvi 2020, Miss Venda 2018's 1st princess, Miss Face of Matatshe 2019's 1st princess, Miss Forex Clinic 2019's 1st princess, Miss Thengwe High School 2019, Miss Tshilamba Public Choice 2019, and Miss Mphephu 2019's 1st princess.

"I boast great self-esteem and determination and I know that, armed with these characteristics, I am bound to leave an indelible mark in this journey of mine," she said. "Being a model is not as easy as it sounds. However, I have worked hard in learning all there is to know about the modelling industry. That's what makes me stand out among other models."

Roughly translated, Tshedza means 'light', or 'one with light'. "My name always serves as a driving tool to work hard in life," she said. "The most important part of modelling to me is not only winning titles, but also about the kind of inspiration you are to girls who look up to you."

Tshedza can be followed on Facebook (Mudau Tshedza) and Instagram (@Muda.utshedza).
