Tshepiso Promise Mphidi, once a sweet vendor, was crowned Miss Limpopo Province 2025, culminating years of perseverance. Her victory highlights dedication and a commitment to youth mental health and development.

Tshepiso Promise Mphidi was crowned Miss Limpopo Province 2025 during a ceremony at Bolivia Lodge on 29 November. The announcement left the new queen visibly stunned as she reflected on her journey from selling sweets along Univen Road to earning one of Limpopo's most prestigious pageant titles.

"I'm still a little shocked," Mphidi said shortly after her win. "But this shows that hard work really does pay off."

Her victory is rooted in years of determination and self-reliance. Her pageant theme, "The Realistic Day of a South African Youth," mirrors her experience of early-morning hustles, temporary jobs, and constant efforts to stay afloat. To support herself, she runs a small beauty salon, Glow and Show, offering makeup and nail services. She also sells sweets at Thohoyandou Secondary School and along Univen Road, while mentoring young girls through her modelling school.

Mphidi brings a strong pageant background, including titles such as International Junior Miss South Africa 2024, Miss Limpopo 2024, Miss Limpopo Province first runner-Up (2021), Miss Univen 2022, and Miss Teen Galaxy 2022. In total, she has won 31 queen titles and achieved 75 overall wins, making her one of the province's most accomplished contestants.

Outside pageantry, Mphidi is a master's student in social work and a campus care worker at the University of Venda, assisting students with stress, mental health issues, and personal challenges. "My work focuses on promoting well-being on campus," she said. "It's something I'm passionate about."

She first competed for Miss Limpopo Province in 2021, finishing as first runner-up. Returning this year, "more mature and determined," she credits that growth for her success.

As Miss Limpopo Province 2025, Mphidi plans to focus on mental-health awareness, youth-skills development, and creating safer environments for women and children.

She hopes her story inspires young people across South Africa. "Success doesn't always start in fancy places," she said. "Sometimes it starts with a small salon, a bag of sweets, and a refusal to give up. No dream is too far when you have purpose, compassion, and determination."
