HAMAKHUVHA – Tshifudi XI Experience are the champions of the SK Newlook Electrics KO Competition.

They beat Gooldville Young Tigers 1-0 in the final of the competition at Hamakhuvha ground on Sunday.

Although the most important goal for Experience came in the dying minutes, the game was worth watching from the first whistle. Young Tigers blundered in the first twenty minutes when they played aerial balls, of which the midfielders of Experience were the champions.

This forced their defenders to work overtime at some stages. They later settled and started to create chances for their strikers by their one-two passes that were initiated from the middle of the park.

Both sides effected some changes to their original squads earlier in the last half. This, however could not change the complection of the game. The goal that was worth R500 came in the 86th minute. Ntuwiseni Mugeri picked up a corner kick that looked too hot for the keeper Young Tigers to handle.

Instead of holding the ball, the Tigers' keeper, Lawrence Leshiba tried to push it away for a corner kick. This did not materialise as the ball slipped from his hands before he suffered the pain of watching it going beyond his reach. In the losers' finals match that was played prior to the big one, Makwarani Frelimo Boys beat Ngwenani Manchester 5-4 at the same venue.

The winner of this match was determined through a penalty shoot-out after the teams drew 1-1 when the official time had expired. The victory for Tshifudi XI Experience earned them a cash prize of R1 500 and a floating trophy. The runner up, Gooldville Young Tigers went home with a cheque to the value of R1 000.
