The Tshikota Squad were crowned champions of the Hollywoodbets Pre-Easter Soccer Challenge, which took place at the Mabaleng Sports Grounds in Tshiozwi on Friday, 21 March.
Tshikota played against Midoroni in the final match. After no goals were scored during regulation time, the match had to be decided by penalty kicks, with Tshikota winning 5-4.
Tshikota advanced to the final after beating Tshiozwi earlier that day in another match that also went into a penalty shootout. Midoroni reached the final by defeating Makhita 2-0.
For their efforts, Tshikota won R8,000 in prize money, a trophy, and gold medals. Midoroni received R4,000 and silver medals. The two teams that lost in the semi-finals each received R1,000.
The tournament was organised by Mamu Community Development.
