A 25-year-old murder suspect, Tshimangadzo Rasiluma Tambani, appeared in the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate's Court last Monday.
The suspect was expecting to lodge a bail application, but his case was simply postponed to 19 January next year for further investigation. Meanwhile, the residents of Madombidzha had since handed a memo to the acting court manager, wherein they requested the court to deny the suspect bail.
In an incident that shocked the whole of Vhembe District, Rasiluma allegedly approached his girlfriend, Glenda Radzilani, on her way to work and assaulted her on 31 July. He then dragged her to her home, where he is alleged to have assaulted and stabbed her multiple times. Two minors and Glenda's sister were in the house, hiding and fearing for their lives.
