Tshiombo XI Securitas will not take part in the next round of the MTG and PIB KO Competition. They were booted out 2-1 by Mutshenzheni Gorillas at the Khubvi Benjies grounds on Saturday.
Gorillas opened their account in the 10th minute. Ronewa Munyai finished in a square pass from Madilonga Mukwevho to give his side an early lead. Securitas tried hard to get an equaliser, but Gorillas were still leading 1-0 when the teams adjourned for the half time break.
Gorillas continued to press hard in the opening minutes of the last half. A defender of Securitas, Rolindela Thanyani, handled the ball within the box and the referee was prompted to award a penalty to Gorillas. Murendeni Ramarumo shot straight to the keeper from the white spot.
Securitas did not stop fighting even after conceding a second goal in the 65th minute. The second goal for Gorillas came via Thendo Sikhwama. He forced his way through the defence of Securitas and blasted in a rocket from inside the box. Securitas reduced one later in the game. They were awarded a penalty after Muano Nemuramba was brought down within the box. Alufhiwi Ramashia made no mistake from the spot.
