The Fakatsimbi Top 4 Annual Tournament, organised by the Fakatsimbi Social Foundation, delivered an electrifying blend of competition and community unity on Tuesday, 31 December, at the Siloam XI Bullets Soccer Grounds.

The opening match set the tone for the day, with Siloam XI Bullets taking on Tshirenzheni Peace Makers in a high-energy clash. The game ended in a 2-2 draw, forcing a penalty shootout, where Tshirenzheni Peace emerged victorious.

In the second match, Tswime FC edged past Tshithuthuni Remember My Promise with a narrow 1-0 win. Both teams displayed remarkable determination, but Tswime FC's grit secured their spot in the final.

The grand finale between Tshirenzheni Peace Makers and Tswime FC lived up to its billing. After an intense 90 minutes, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Once again, penalties decided the outcome, with Tshirenzheni Peace clinching a dramatic 4-3 victory to lift the coveted trophy.

The Fakatsimbi Social Foundation congratulated Tshirenzheni Peace on their hard-earned triumph and commended all participating teams—Siloam XI Bullets, Tshithuthuni Remember My Promise, and Tswime FC—for their exceptional performances.

"We are thrilled with the success of this tournament. It brought young people together, keeping them off the streets and engaged in something positive," said Mr Phumudzo Mulafhi, chairperson of the Fakatsimbi Social Foundation.

"This was our inaugural tournament, and we started with four teams. Next year, we aim to expand to eight teams, providing even more young men with an opportunity to stay active and away from negative influences. We want to change the narrative of festive celebrations from drinking alcohol to engaging in sports and other meaningful activities," he said.
