Iyarunga FC were too strong for Ravele Black Dragons when they overwhelmed them 4-2 in their Limpopo Dairy League match at Ravele on Saturday.
Dragons took the game to their opponents from the onset, but were let down by poor finishing from their strikers. They came close to scoring in the eighth minute, when Khodani Siabi shot wide from close range. Dragons were strong at the far back and their striking force too, but they lacked cohesion in the middle of the park. The balls that threatened the defence of Iyarunga were ballooned from behind.
The centre forward of Iyarunga, Frans Lethole, went into the referee's book, following dangerous play on Edward Ramadzhamba. Iyarunga converted an opportunity in the 24th minute when Tshivhidzo Sikhwari scored easily. Their opponents should have equalised two minutes later, but Dakalo Mukhavhuli shot into the keeper Ndivhuwo Khangala's hands.
Nyadzani Netshaulu scored his team's second goal when he received a beautiful pass from Tshivhidzo Sikhwari in the 44th minute. The half-time score was 2-0 in favour of Iyarunga.
Early in the second half, Cartoo Mohlale reduced the margin when he scored from 20 meters out. The Kutama lads were aggressive, with their midfielders dishing out dangerous passes to their strikers. Sikhwari scored the third goal of his team.
Hector Mukwevho of Iyarunga was red-carded for insulting the referee, Mr David Nyalungu. The Iyarunga keeper, Ndivhuwo Khangala, made several saves.
Dragons scored their second goal via Colbert Magoro, while Sikhwari scored his fourth goal in the 87th minute after he finished off a square pass from Patrick Nthapalala.
