The fight for promotion and to avoid relegation will be on among the affiliates for the National First Division League (NFD) this weekend. All matches will be played on Sunday afternoon. Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will play their match at Thohoyandou Stadium and the team will host one of the relegation candidates, Uthongathi FC.
While TTM will be fighting it with the aim of restoring their lost pride, the situation will be totally different for Uthongathi. The Kwazulu-Natal side must win the match to enhance their chances of escaping the relegation axe at the end of the season. Uthongathi are one of the six clubs whose future in the NFD hangs in the balance.
The fact that it will be the last home match for TTM this season is reason enough for them to collect full points for the sake of their loyal supporters on Sunday. TTM will be without their left back, Mhlabine Mahlatse, on Sunday. He was given his marching orders in their game against Super Eagles at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem last Saturday.
The combination of Aluwani "Killer" Nedzamba, Themba Ndlovu and Monde Mpambaniso at TTM's forefront is expected to keep the Uthongathi defense running for cover throughout the game, while David Mathebula and Khethowakhe Masuku will keep the fire burning in the middle of the park.
Black Leopards will be visitors to Highlands Park at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa. Pretoria University will host Stellenbosch FC at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria. The other fixtures are: Cape Town All Stars vs Royal Eagles, Richards Bay FC vs Ubuntu Cape Town, Jomo Cosmos vs Super Eagles, Witbank Spurs vs Mbombela United and Mthatha Bucks vs Real Kings.
