The fourth round of clashes in the Motsepe Foundation Championship League will take place this weekend. The mother of all battles will be between Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and Venda Football Academy (VFA) and will be played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
VFA's performance has been inconsistent in their first three matches. They lost 0-1 to Magesi FC in their opening match at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane two weeks ago before they registered a 1-0 victory over Platinum City Rovers at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday. VFA then donated league points to Polokwane City on Tuesday afternoon, following their 0-1 defeat at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Their team's captain, Ricardo Versuur, will not be available for their game against TTM. He is still on suspension after seeing red in Tuesday's game against Polokwane City. Gerald Takwara will be expected to do the job in the absence of Versuur.
TTM did not have much time to prepare for the game. They played against Platinum City Rovers at the Olën Park Stadium in Potchefstroom on Wednesday afternoon and drove back home shortly after the game.
The players were given a day to rest and will resume their normal training sessions on Friday morning. The result of their game against City Rovers was not yet available at the time of our going to print.
Should he be given a chance on Saturday, the former VFA playmaker, Eden Nene, is expected to form a good combination with Tumelo Makha in the midfield. Nene scored the team's first goal when TTM beat MM Platinum 2-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Sunday.
Black Leopards will host Baroka FC at the Malamulele Stadium on Sunday.
