Tshakhuma Tshamadzivhandila (TTM) held current log leaders Mpheni Defenders to a goalless draw in their SAFA Limpopo ABC Motsepe League match played at Mpheni on Saturday. It was TTM’s second consecutive 0–0 draw.
Despite occupying top spot on the log, Defenders have had an uncharacteristically inconsistent start to the 2025/26 season, dropping points on several occasions. The defending champions have opened the campaign with eight wins and four draws from their first 12 league matches, collecting 28 points.
Having clinched the league title an unprecedented four times in a row, Up the Bulls’ shaky start has fuelled predictions among fans and pundits that this could finally be the season another team breaks their dominance.
TTM assistant coach Manqoba Mseleku said the team remains concerned about its overall performance this season, despite improved displays in recent matches.
“But we are all frustrated about missing points because we are not scoring the opportunities we get. We have to continue to work and fix this problem,” said Mseleku.
Defenders head coach Vhutshilo Phuravhathu also shared his assessment of the title race, admitting the team is far from satisfied with its current performance and that the chase will be exceptionally tough.
“Of course, I’m not happy with the points we have at the moment, but that is something that comes from the beginning of the season,” Phuravhathu said.
