Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) managed to hold Stellenbosch FC to a 1-1 draw in their NFD League match at the Idas Valley Stadium in Cape Town last Friday, even though they were reduced to 10 men in the last half.
The home side were the first to find the net through Cedrick Steenkamp early in the last half.
Happy Mashau, TTM's right back, was given his marching orders for dangerous play in the 64th minute. The visitors from Tshakhuma did not stop fighting, despite all the odds. They found the equalizer two minutes before the end of regulation time. Their overlapping left back, Lebohang Mabotja, beat the keeper with a ground cutter.
TTM are now lying in the second position on the log with 16 points, one behind the pace setters, Stellenbosch FC.
Ajax Cape Town gave away league points to Uthongathi FC, when they lost 0-1 at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban. It took Uthongathi only 14 minutes to find the all-important goal. James Maseko scored with a header after a corner kick that was taken by George Dlamini.
Witbank Spurs and TS Sporting shared the spoils when they played to a goalless draw at the Puma Rugby Stadium in eMalahleni, while Mbombela United beat Jomo Cosmos 2-0 in Nelspruit.
TS Galaxy narrowly beat Maccabi FC 1-0 at the Kameelrivier Stadium in Siyabuswa and Cape Umoya United lost 0-1 to Royal Eagles in front of their home crowd.
The University of Pretoria were too strong for Ubuntu Cape Town and beat them 2-0 at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria. Real Kings and Richards Bay FC drew 1-1 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban.
