The Makhado Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after two members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) passed away in an accident this morning.

The Makhado Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after two members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) passed away in an accident this morning.

According to police information, the accident occurred around 11:00 on the N1 north, about 46km from Louis Trichardt near the Huntleigh turn-off. "It is alleged that two trucks, of which one belonged to the military, were travelling in a southern direction when a third truck, travelling in the opposite direction, lost control and collided with the two trucks," said the police's provincial spokesperson, Brig Motlafela Mojapelo.

One SANDF member was declared dead on the scene, while the second SANDF member passed away on shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Investigations are still ongoing and more details will be published as they become available.
