Tshilidzi Bulannga describes herself as an ultracool radio personality, who has had a passion for a career in media from an early age.
Popularly known as DJ Chichi, Tshilidzi joined Univen FM some two years ago. She presents Lunch Talk (12:00-15:00) and this show has a huge listenership.
Her love for radio started after visiting the Radio Venda studios when she was young. "I saw the presenters and how they managed being on air and talking to thousands of people. I was awed by that," she said.
Tshilidzi immediately fell in love with radio and started gathering information on how one can be a host or presenter on radio. She was formally introduced to the world of media while shadowing at Radio Turf. Her big break was when she received the opportunity to present the afternoon drive show on Makhado FM. She also produced and was promoted to present the Sumbandila Breakfast Show for four years.
This young but courageous woman is an ambitious writer, who also owns Chichioma Decor Events and Communication Management. "I am the founder of Abba Foundation, which helps the needy. If we need to see change among ourselves, in our country, we need to start right within our small communities by helping those who need our help most."
Tshilidzi is a woman who is into casual clothing, such as leggings and long dresses. She loves electro music, deep house, reggae, soul, and RnB music. She adores seafood. Her dream car is a Jaguar. She is a great lover of soccer and she doesn't hesitate to attend matches across the country. "I am currently reading Hustler's Bible by Gayton Mackenzie," she said.
