Winning a crown is more than just walking away with a title – it reflects discipline, heritage, and confidence. For Unarine Mmbara, the newly crowned Miss Royal Heritage Festival 2025, the moment was nothing short of a dream come true.

"I still feel like I am dreaming. Winning Miss Royal Heritage Festival 2025 is such a blessing, and I am very proud of myself," Mmbara said. "It shows me that hard work and believing in yourself really pay off."

The young queen explained that her decision to enter the pageant had been driven by a desire to challenge herself and inspire others in her community. "I wanted to represent young people and show them that anything is possible if you believe in yourself. The pageant was not just about beauty, but about heritage, confidence, and leadership, and that motivated me a lot," she said.

Preparation required dedication and discipline. Long hours were spent perfecting her walk, sharpening her interview skills, and expanding her knowledge of culture and heritage. "I also worked on my confidence, learning how to speak in front of people and carry myself as a queen," she said.

When her name was announced as the winner, the moment was overwhelming. "I was shocked and happy at the same time. My heart was beating so fast, and I could not believe it was me. It was the best moment of my life, and I will never forget it."

Asked what made her stand out, Mmbara credited authenticity and passion. "I think the way I carried myself and the attire as well. I also stayed true to who I am. The judges saw my passion, my love for culture, and the way I spoke from the heart," she said.

The question-and-answer segment proved both a test and a turning point. "It was not easy to stand in front of so many people because I became nervous, but it pushed me to think fast and be brave. That moment really showed me how strong I am."

As Miss Royal Heritage, Mmbara plans to dedicate her reign to youth empowerment. "I want to focus on empowering the youth, especially young girls. I will encourage them to stay in school, follow their dreams, and use their talents. I also want to promote our culture and heritage, because it is what makes us unique and strong as a people," she said.

She hinted that her journey in the pageant world is only beginning. "Yes, I would love to. This is just the start for me. I want to grow more in the pageant world, and I am also open to public engagements where I can inspire and motivate others."

Behind her success is a strong support system. "My family, especially my mom, Mbedzi Dikeledi Rebecca, and my grandma, Dr Mmbara Virginia Swethani, have been my biggest supporters. They believed in me even when I doubted myself. They always encouraged me to keep going, and for that I am very grateful."
