After a break of two weeks, the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will be back in action this weekend. Most of the matches will be played on Saturday, while only three will be played at different venues throughout the province on Friday afternoon.
The match expected to be a crowd-puller will be between Mpheni Home Defenders and Munaca FC and is to be played at the Louis Trichardt High School Grounds on Saturday.
Home Defenders must win the match to enhance their chances of promotion. They are currently leading the pack with 33 points, three ahead of Giyani Happy Boys. Home Defenders proved beyond doubt that they are ready for promotion when they narrowly lost to the DStv Premiership League side, Chippa United, in their Nedbank Cup match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth last Saturday afternoon.
On the other hand, the game will be a matter of life and death for Munaca FC, who are fighting for survival in the relegation zone. Giyani Happy Boys are expecting a tough game against United Artists. They will meet the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. Should they fail to collect the maximum points at stake and Home Defenders manage to win their match against Munaca, Happy Boys must forget about promotion.
Mikhado FC will entertain Musina United at the Rabali Stadium. Failure to beat Musina on Saturday will mean that Mikhado will be relegated to the lower league.
Emmanuel FC will have a date with Winners Park at the Malamulele Stadium. Eleven Fast Tigers and PJ Stars will fight for league points at the Boyne Stadium outside Polokwane. The three fixtures scheduled for Friday afternoon are: City Motors vs Tzaneen United, Ditlou FC vs The Dolphins FC and Mighty FC vs Phinnet City.
