United Stars fined for assaulting referee

Several heavy fines were imposed on MMK League clubs during the league's disciplinary committee meeting that was held last Saturday

VUWANI – Several heavy fines were imposed on MMK League clubs during the league's disciplinary committee meeting that was held last Saturday.

Gwamasenga United Stars assaulted a match official during their match against Ramukhuba Manchester United. They were fined an amount of R250 and one of their players, Abraham Ndou, was suspended for eight games. A further fine of R50 was imposed on Stars for failure to send a representative to the meeting.

Vyeboom United Brothers assaulted the referee, Clement Phalanndwa, in their match against Nngwekhulu Real Rovers. They were ordered to pay a fine of R250 and to replace the referee's stopwatch that was broken during the incident.

Manavhela Black Rangers failed to honour their league matches against Nngwekhulu Real Rovers, Vyeboom United Brothers and Malumbe Express. A fine of R300 was imposed on them, apart from the fact that they forfeited the points for the matches in question to the opponents.

Tshifulanani Mighty Rock fielded an improperly registered player in their match against Tornado Broilers Football Club. They were fined an amount of R250 for that. Mighty Rock won the match 2-0 and the committee reversed the score and awarded the points and two goals to Broilers.

The match between Mathule Manchester United and Shooters Black Mambas was a flop for the simple reason that both teams did not have a match ball. They were each fined an amount of R150 and they were ordered to replay the match at a neutral venue. The match will be played at the Khwekhwe ground tomorrow. Ajax Supa Quick abandoned their match against Tshakhuma General FC. A fine of R100 was imposed on them
