The police have arrested yet another traditional healer, a 42-year-old man, whom they suspect is connected to the alleged violation of graves at Tshitavha.
This brings to five the number of total suspects apprehended in the matter.
The healer was arrested at Mbilwi Village and is suspected of buying the human remains that were allegedly obtained from corpses that were dug up at Tshitavha.
He will appear in the Makuya Periodical Court today (13 September) together with three other suspects in the matter, namely the alleged kingpin Elias Daniel Nephawe (23), Mathandzhia Munyai (20) and Colbert Nemasisi (29).
All four are expected to appear briefly in court. It is expected that the court will then decide on a suitable date for the suspects to bring a bail application.
The fifth suspect, Erick Kwinda (39), was one of the first suspects to be arrested. He appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, 6 September, on a single count of defeating the ends of justice and was denied bail. Kwinda will remain in custody until his next court appearance on 30 October.
