After a 10-year break, veteran radio presenter Josias "Jos Mundevhele" Ncube is back on air, joining Choice and Energy FM.
With more than 40 years of experience, Ncube first made his mark at Radio Thohoyandou and later Phalaphala FM after the station was integrated into the SABC in 1998. In 2007, he joined the newly launched Capricorn FM as assistant programmes manager and later became content and compliance manager before taking a break to explore other opportunities.
On 4 October, Ncube returned with Weekend Voyage, airing Saturdays and Sundays from 09:00 to midday. "Radio without me is like tea without sugar. I am like an overflowing dam sweeping down on everyone in my path. You cannot keep a good man down," he said. "If I die now, I will die a happy man because I am back where I belong - the studio."
Ncube said he had missed his listeners over the past decade and described his comeback as a fresh start. "Radio is my life. It gives me the chance to interact with people and learn something new every day. The positive response to my first show has been overwhelming," he said.
He also intends to mentor young presenters. "The foundation of success is to love what you do. I promise to give my listeners my best and contribute to the growth and success of local media," Ncube said, adding that guiding young talent was an important part of his mission.
