The relationship between Venda Football Academy Football Club (VFA) and the team's head coach, Mr Michael Loftman, is something of the past. According to the chairman of the club, Mr Itani Munzhelele, the former Orlando Pirates assistant coach resigned on Monday afternoon.
Loftman's resignation follows a string of poor results under his guidance the past few weeks. VFA could only manage to win one of the four league matches they had played to date. They lost 0-1 to Magesi FC at Polokwane's Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in their opening match. They beat Platinum City Rovers 1-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium before losing 0-1 and 0-2 to Polokwane City and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila respectively.
Mr Munzhelele said that they would soon make an announcement regarding the new head coach for the team. "We wish Mr Loftman all the best in his future endeavours," said Mr Munzhelele.
