After collecting only two points from their last two matches - both played at the Thohoyandou Stadium - Venda Football Club (VFC) will be on the road to Pretoria on Sunday. They will play against Pretoria Callies at the Lucas Moripe Stadium outside Pretoria.
The weekend's match is a matter of life and death for VFC. The Thohoyandou side is fighting for survival in the third-last position on the log standings. Should they fail to grab the maximum points at stake against Callies on Sunday, VFC is likely to drop to the bottom of the log.
Underestimating Pretoria Callies would be a suicidal mistake for VFC. Callies still stand an outside chance to secure a place in the promotional playoffs. A combination of Thifhelimbilu Magalela, Thabelo Tshikweta, and Kgothatso Mariba in VFC's striking force is likely to yield the best results. Tshikweta and Magalela had a good combination in their game against Maritzburg United at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Tuesday.
Black Leopards will host University of Pretoria FC at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Baroka FC and Marumo Gallants will battle for league points at the Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo. Baroka is closely contesting for the league title. Bakgakga, as they are affectionately called, are lying in the third position on the log standings with 42 points.
The other fixtures are Casric Stars vs Platinum City Rovers, JDR Stars vs Orbit College, Magesi FC vs Milford FC, Maritzburg United vs Hungry Lions, and Upington City vs NB La Masia.
