Venda Football Club (VFC) will be campaigning in the Betway Premiership Division next season if the words of the team's team's head coach, Mr Clinton Larsen, are anything to go by.
In an interview after his team's 2-1 victory over Gomora United in their Motsepe Foundation Championship League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday, Larsen said that he would only have himself to blame if the team failed to gain promotion at the end of the current season.
He said that it had become clear to him after his team's goalless draw with Cape Town City in their opening league match that his team would be a force to be reckoned with this season.
The former Magesi FC mentor said that collecting four points in two matches was proof that the team's preparations in the pre-season had been adequate.
He added that VFC have a depth of quality players.
The teams will be on break for two weeks for the FIFA break. Larsen said that they were planning to play a number of friendly games as a way to find winning combinations. VFC's next match will be against Milford FC at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Saturday, 13 September.
