Tshivenda music sensation Vhadau Nga Dzavho returns after a six-year break with his new album, "Ovhuya na Phungo Vol 2." This highly anticipated 10-track release, crafted for quality, is already delighting fans and inspiring him to create more music.

After a six-year hiatus from recording, Tshivenda music sensation Mbulaheni Simon Mudau, better known as Vhadau Nga Dzavho, is back to reclaim his place in the spotlight. His debut solo album, Funanani Vol 1, released in 2019, cemented his reputation as one of the most exciting voices in Tshivenda music — and fans have been eagerly awaiting his return. Now, with his new album, Ovhuya na Phungo Vol 2, he proves that the wait has been worth it.

The 10-track album was recorded at Adziambei Music Academy in March 2025 and released on 20 February this year, quickly generating buzz among fans.

“The album took a long time to be released as the company wanted a high-quality final product. I am so excited that it is finally out, and the reaction has been overwhelming. My fans are loving it, and this has motivated me to keep creating more music,” he said.

Vhadau Nga Dzavho explained that the long gap between releases was intentional.

“I gave myself ample time to work on this project because I wanted the best. The engineers and producers did a fantastic job. The album is packed with beautiful music, and I encourage all Tshivenda music lovers to follow me on all digital music stores,” he said.

His passion for music began at an early age while he was still a learner at Tshisaulu.

“I was just 14 when I fell in love with music. I made an oil-tin guitar for myself and practised endlessly to master it. I worked with several groups before going solo in 2014. My big break came in 2019 when I recorded my debut album. It earned me a TSHIMA nomination, though I didn’t win. That didn’t stop me — I kept working on new material. This album is the result, and I am extremely happy with it,” he said.
