Vhamusanda Vho-Makhado Vhathundimapfura Sinthumule's late mother, Ms Ellen Sinthumule (62), passed away at her home in Makwarela on 16 April after a long illness.

Vhamusanda Vho-Makhado Sinthumule described his mother as an angel who had brought her children up with a lot of love and affection. "The passing of our beloved mother has left a big void in the family. She was everything to us, and she was our main source of inspiration. She was a visionary and a good leader who loved all people without discriminating or taking sides. For me, she was like a friend and not a mother, because we shared ideas," he said fondly.

"The hearts of the whole community and traditional council are heavy. My mother had played an influential role in the church as well as the community. We will always remember her for her hard work, commitment and dedication."

He urged everyone to follow the good example set by Ellen. "It becomes very painful when we lose icons like her, but we wipe our tears because we know that she served the Lord every minute of her life."

Vhakoma Vho-Daniel Mavhandu said the Tshiozwi community and the whole of Limpopo had lost an important figure. "She was a beacon of hope to many people in the community. Her contributions in the development of our community will never be forgotten. She is a true hero in our eyes," he said.

Ellen will be buried on Saturday, 22 April. The funeral service starts in Makwarela at 06:00 and will proceed to Tshiozwi Cemetery from there.
