Popular Vhembe rhumba, kwasa and lekompo artist Musatondwa Ndou ended the year on a high note with the release of a powerful EP, titled Ruma Nne.

The six-track EP follows the very successful album Thonifho ya Vhavenda, which was also released earlier this month.

On the EP, the 37-year-old musician, better known as Musasa from Halambani, collaborated with established artists Razorman and Chizzney.

Musasa said this year had been very productive, with much to celebrate. "I have been struggling for years to find a footing to release good music, with nothing to show for it. This year I saw the grace of God falling upon me, showering me with lots of success. Gigs were coming in left and right, with many still lining up for the festive season," she said.

According to Musasa, Ruma Nne is a song about readiness to obey and serve God. "After all He has done for me, who am I not to obey his instructions? I am ready to be sent wherever God wants me to go. I am ready to spread the good tidings," she said.

Musasa's music career began almost by chance in 2015, when her daughter, Ritshidze Mabiku, was graduating from a local crèche. Musasa was asked to perform an item, and her performance left the audience spellbound. Her exceptional singing skills caught the attention of well-known music scout Mudavudavu, who immediately signed her.

Her debut album, Ndi Tshilele Gai, was released in 2016.
