A trend seems on the rise where perpetrators target unsuspecting job seekers. Vhembe TVET College has issued a public warning, following a fake recruitment advertisement for various job vacancies that is being circulated on social media.

The spokesperson for the college, Ms Munzhedzi Makhuvha, reminded jobseekers that recruitment at the Vhembe TVET College will only be communicated through the college's official website and various print-media outlets.

"Work-integrated learning opportunities will be communicated through social-media platforms. Applicants will be requested to submit applications at our selected offices or at the Post Office. There will never be an application link in any of our vacancies. All applications are submitted in hard copy. Our officials will never request monetary benefits in exchange for placements. We urge our stakeholders to exercise caution and avoid being duped by individuals posing as Vhembe TVET College officials. Please validate any vacancies by contacting our Human Resources department. Please help us curb the scourge of employment scams by reporting possible threats to our internal audit department on 015 963 7000/7021/7059," Makhuvha said.
