Following the success of his much-acclaimed fourth gospel offering, "Ndi Vhone Mulamuleli," musician Moses Musenwa, better known as Vho Musenwa, has returned with a sizzling single, "Magwedzho," which simply means "boreholes".

On this single, the musician from Haravele outside Louis Trichardt worked with his long-time producer, Bonginkosi Innocent Yeko, better known as DJ Mzola, the founder of the Biyeko music label. The single was released on Friday, 7 June.

With a music career spanning more than 20 years, Vho Musenwa is no novice in the industry and has 10 other Tshivenda traditional-music albums under his belt. The latest offering is a testament to his overwhelming success and stature in the music industry. The song is inspired by the dire scarcity of water in most parts of the country, particularly in the Vhembe region.

"There are cries for water everywhere, and water services authorities are not coping. In the long run, the poor are the ones at the receiving end. Here, we are giving praise where it is due. We are giving a pat on the back to those who have taken it upon themselves and are contributing to water provision, especially in rural villages," he said.

Producer and composer Bonginkosi Yeko said the song also raised awareness about the importance of water. "We are also encouraging companies that have the means to join hands and give back to communities, as the government alone is failing to supply communities with water. We also urge communities to support those companies that give back," he said.

Vho Musenwa's musical journey started in 2002 when he released his inaugural album. His latest single is available on all digital platforms.
