Dumasi All Stars collected three points at the expense of Mbilwi United Stars when they crushed them 1-0 in their SAB League match at Dumasi on Sunday (02/10).
The game was characterized by rough tackles from both sides. The referee, Mr Dion Mphuma, did not allow any culprit to go unpunished. He flashed nine yellow cards and a red one in a bid to calm the situation. The first player to go into the referee's book was Nyambuluwo Ramashidzha of United Stars. His offence was a late tackle on Mphireleni Mugwevheni. United Stars realised that it was not their day when their left flank, Gudani Makhado, missed a fortune in the 18th minute. Instead of relaxing on the ball and trying other possible ways, Makhado shot aimlessly from close range.
Shumani Chauke of Dumasi All Stars handled the ball intentionally and the referee was lenient enough to let him go with yellow when everyone thought he would see red. The goal that separated the boys from the men came seven minutes before the half-time whistle. Gumani Tshifaro caught the United Stars' keeper off-guard and unleashed a rocket from the penalty area.
Things turned against Dumasi All Stars in the 67th minute. Their midfielder, Ntsieni Munge, was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence. Zwivhuya Mahada of All Stars, who came on as a substitute, was reprimanded with a card for wasting time late in the game.
