After giving away points to Thanda Royal Zulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane in their opening NFD League match two weeks ago, Magezi FC rectified their mistakes and beat FC Cape Town 3-2 at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town last Saturday.

The African Beasts were the first to draw blood. They took the lead through Andile Khumalo's header in the 11th minute. The Polokwane side were back in the game when they found the equalizer via Sakhele Nhlabathi nine minutes before the half-time whistle. Two second-half goals by Noah Maimela powered Magezi through to their first victory. The home side reduced the margin via Siyabonga Dudula late in the game.

Although Stellenbosch FC were the first to find the net, they could not maintain their original fighting spirit and eventually they gave away points to University of Pretoria at the Coetzenburg Stadium. Tuks found the equalizer through Broderick Burds and the winner came in the 74th when Chemon Peterson headed home after a corner kick.

The rookies, Real Kings, held Santos to a 1-1 draw at the Athlone Stadium, but Mbombela United were unstoppable when they beat Milano United 2-0 at the Kanyamazane Stadium. Suyabonga Madikane scored for United in the 47th and 78th minute.

A stunning long-range strike from Mazwi Mcube 20 minutes into the game was good enough to give Mthatha Bucks a 1-0 victory at the expense of Witbank Spurs in Emalahleni.

Back in Thohoyandou, Black Leopards played to a 1-1 draw with Jomo Cosmos. Mwape Musonda scored for Lidoda Duvha, while a substitute, Brice Aka, found Cosmos's equalizer in the second half.

Sunday saw Thanda Royal Zulu beat Royal Eagles 2-0 at the Umhlatuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay, while Cape Town All Stars lost 0-1 to Amazulu at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.
