The residents of Mphephu Thondoni in Nzhelele demonstrated their dissatisfaction with the prevailing crime in the area, when about 300 of them submitted a memorandum of grievances to the Mphephu Police Station last Friday (7th).

They are demanding immediate actions after the recent murder of Portia Rasilabe. They are displeased by the lack of action of police officers regarding her death and stipulate that a known suspect should be arrested within seven days.

The chairperson of the Mphephu Civic Association, Mr Livhuwani Mphephu, was happy that the residents came in numbers during the march. He further said that police must treat all cases as equally important.

"The police should do their job. If not, we'll take the law into our hands. Let's unite and work together to defeat these brutal killings of our people," he added.

The police promised that they would investigate the case thoroughly.
