Residents of Louis Trichardt learned with great sadness of the passing of 78-year-old Ms Prabhavati Jeram after a short battle with lung cancer.
Ms Jeram, affectionately known as "Madam Jeram", served as an educator at Eltivillas Primary School in Eltivillas for approximately 15 years, leaving a profound impact on her students and their subsequent paths. She was known for her kindness and love, balanced with a strict demeanour that instilled discipline in her students.
Ms Jeram recently relocated to Johannesburg to access the necessary medical care and be closer to her family residing in Gauteng. She peacefully passed away in the Netcare Milpark Hospital, surrounded by her family on 16 September, just three days before her 79th birthday.
"We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and love we have received from the Louis Trichardt community and the surrounding areas," said her sons, Rakesh and Amesh Jeram.
The late Ms Jeram's cremation took place on 17 September at the Lenasia Hindu Crematorium. "Her selfless acts of kindness and unwavering support have not only shaped our family but have also served as a shining example for everyone she encountered," said the family.
