Ntshuxeko Wesllie Chauke, a young model from Phaweni village in Malamulele, is among the Top 9 finalists in the Miss Influence South Africa 2024 pageant. The 18-year-old will represent Limpopo Province on 6 July this year when the finals take place at the State Theatre in Pretoria.
Wesllie was crowned Miss Influence South Africa Limpopo Ambassador on 9 February this year, which guaranteed her a spot in the top 9 finalists. She will be competing with models from the eight other provinces.
In an interview last week, she said that she was ready to bring the Miss Influence South Africa crown back home to Limpopo. "Being Miss Influence South Africa and holding a national pageant title will be a big move for me and it will help me regain my confidence," she said. Wesllie mentioned that she had become a victim of cyberbullying over the past year and had to stand strong amidst ruthless attacks on social-media platforms.
Wesllie stated that if she won, she wanted to use her influence to create a safe space for people who were being abused. "I want to fight for the safety of women and children in our province. I cannot do this alone. I want people to work with me on this big campaign, so that we can fight against GBV and bullying," she added.
She asked people to support her by purchasing tickets and coming to witness the crowning.
