The quarter-finals, semi-finals, and final of the Vision Soccer Tournament will take place at the Khubvi Benjie's Grounds this weekend. The quarter-final matches will be played on Saturday, followed by the draws for the semi-final matches.
The first quarter-final match will feature Nweli Stone Breakers against Ngwenani Young Chiefs. Stone Breakers faced a challenging path to the quarter-finals, beating Makhuvha All Stars 5-4 in a penalty shootout to secure their spot in the top eight. Young Chiefs are considered one of the favourites to win the tournament.
In the second fixture, Mbahe Freedom Rebels will take on Berea FC, scheduled to start at 11:30. Berea defied the critics last Sunday by coming back from a 0-1 deficit to defeat Tshaulu Hungry Lions 2-1 at the same venue. Freedom Rebels earned their spot in the quarter-finals by defeating Makwarani Frelimo Boys 4-3.
Musasenda Big Five will face Phandulaluvalo in the next fixture, while Vondwe XI Bullets will meet Mahangala Young Stars later in the afternoon. Although Bullets are competing in a higher division, their chances of advancing to the semi-finals are slim as they have disappointed fans in previous tournaments over the past month.
The tournament champions will receive a substantial cash prize of R15,000, with the runners-up earning R7,000. The team that finishes in third place will be awarded R5,000, while the fourth-placed team will receive R3,000. Teams eliminated in the quarter-finals will each receive a consolation prize of R1,000.
