The fifth annual Thovhele NTL Mashamba Top 32 Soccer Challenge is heading for an exciting finish, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final set to take place on 15 and 16 June. This is one of the richest tournaments in the Vhembe District, boasting prize money of R200,000.
The tournament started on 31 May and has already produced several surprises. The draw for the final matches was held last week, and it is clear that soccer lovers are in for a treat. All the matches will be played at the Mashamba Grounds.
The fixtures for Sunday are:
* 08:30 – Mashamba Soccer Academy vs Makhitha Oscar Stars
* 10:30 – Mashau Pull Together vs Mpheni Academy
* 12:30 – Eagles United vs Tshikhwani Stone Breakers
* 14:40 – Bokisi Scientist vs Maelula United Brothers
The semi-finals and final will be played on Youth Day, 16 June.
The winning team will walk away with R70,000, a floating trophy, gold medals and a new soccer kit. The runners-up will receive R35,000, silver medals and a new kit, while the third-placed team will receive R17,500, bronze medals and a new kit. The fourth-placed team will take home R8,500 and a new soccer kit.
