The champions of the Berea Madzonga Soccer Challenge will be crowned at the Berea Grounds in Zwigodini on Sunday. The top-six matches will be played at the same venue on Saturday.
The first top-six match will be between Mulodi Freedom Birds and Domboni Sunshine, with the match starting at 11:00. Freedom Birds are sharpened to kill after beating Sambandou United Professionals 2-0 in their top-12 match that was played at the same venue last Saturday. Domboni's way to the last-six round went via Mabvete Peace Makers, whom they had crushed 3-2 last Saturday.
Malale Boys will lock horns with Tshilavulu Elite in the second match, which is scheduled to start at 13:30. Lukau FC and Berea FC will be the last to enter the field of play at 15:30. The best losers in the last-six round matches will join the three winners in the semi-final round.
According to one of the organisers of the tournament, Mr Tshilidzi Netshidzivhe, the toss for the semi-final matches will be conducted at the grounds after the last game on Saturday. The semi-finals and final matches will be played on Sunday.
The champions of the tournament will receive R30,000, a floating trophy, gold medals and soccer kit. A cash prize of R15,000, silver medals and soccer kit are awaiting the team that will finish in second place. Several consolation prizes will be given to the other teams who have made the top 24.
