The quarter-final, semi-final, and final matches of the Zwonaka and Lutande Eating House Soccer Tournament will take place at the Tshivhilwi Tshiberetheni Grounds this weekend.
The eight teams that have reached the quarter-final stage are Berea FC, Vondwe XI Bullets, Ngwenani Young Chiefs, Buluni Happy Boys, Mulindathavha Ocean Swallows, Mukula Avalon, Tshibvumo Football Academy, and Musasenda Big Five. The quarter-final matches will be played on Saturday, while the semi-final and final are scheduled for Sunday.
The first quarterfinal match will be between Ngwenani Young Chiefs and Buluni Happy Boys, starting at 09:00. Mulindathavha Ocean Swallows and Mukula Avalon will face off soon afterwards. Avalon secured their place in the quarter-finals by beating Sambandou United Professional (Supro) 7-6.
Berea FC will take on Tshibvumo Football Academy shortly after midday. Berea reached the quarter-finals by defeating Tswera Hot Chilies 7-6 in a closely contested match. The final clash of the day will be between Musasenda Big Five and the much-feared Vondwe XI Bullets.
The draw for the semi-final matches will be conducted after the last quarter-final game on Saturday evening. The champions of the tournament will receive R15,000, a soccer kit, a floating trophy, a soccer ball, and gold medals. The runners-up will be awarded R8,000, a soccer kit, silver medals, and a soccer ball.
The third-placed team will receive R4,000 and a soccer ball, while the fourth-placed team will get R3,000 and a soccer ball. Teams eliminated in the quarter-final round will each receive a consolation prize of R1,000. The prize-giving ceremony is expected to take place at the grounds shortly after the final game on Sunday.
