Another action-packed weekend awaits the teams affiliated with the Motsepe Foundation Championship League.

After hosting Midlands Wanderers FC at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday afternoon, Black Leopards are bracing themselves for a tough encounter against The Bees FC at the Kanyamazane Stadium outside Nelspruit on Saturday. (The result of their match against Midlands Wanderers was not available at the time of our going to press.)

Although The Bees are newcomers to the league, underestimating them would be a suicidal mistake for Black Leopards. The Bees have already proven that they were not promoted to the Motsepe Foundation Championship League by default and are currently in sixth position with 11 points — eight behind the leaders, Milford FC.

Black Leopards head coach Joel Masutha said he realised The Bees were a hard nut to crack, especially in front of their home crowd. He revealed that they would travel to Nelspruit with the strongest possible team.

A combination of Leopards' strikers Bethuel Muzeu, Brain Nkosi and Mwape Musonda has the potential to unsettle any defence, while Donald Makgethlwa, Goodman Chirwa and Pfunzo Ramunasi are expected to keep the fire burning in the middle of the park. Leopards must win the match to revive their promotion hopes.

Both Leopards and The Bees are still trying to recover from their defeats last weekend. The Bees were beaten 2-1 by Cape Town City, while the Thohoyandou side suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Milford FC.
