Thohoyandou Stadium will be the best place to be on Saturday afternoon. This is the venue where the Motsepe Foundation Championship League match between Black Leopards and Marumo Gallants will take place.
Beating Lidoda duvha will not be easy for Gallants, considering Black Leopards' track record in their last six matches. The Thohoyandou outfit has yet to lose a league match at home under the guidance of Mr. Peter Mponda and his assistant, Solly Luvhengo. The duo took over from the Spanish mentor, Mr. Alejandro Dorado Rodriguez, about two months ago.
Black Leopards were uncertain if their Ivorian striker, Jean Jaures Aime Aurlus Golly, would be available for selection on Saturday. His work permit was still pending at the time of our going to press. If he is available for the game, Golly is expected to form a good combination with the likes of Bethuel Muzeu, Nkosephayo Mavundla, and Rophney Hlungwane up front. Breaking through Leopards' defence will not be easy for the Gallants' striking force, which is marshalled by Tshepo Chaine, Kutwano Mzimela, and Laudry Mukaba.
Black Leopards' right back, Tebogo Makobela, will be available for selection on Saturday. He was out of action in the team's last two games because of a suspension after being red-carded in their home game against Maritzburg United at Thohoyandou Stadium on Tuesday, 31 October.
If Black Leopards manage to collect the full points against Gallants, they are likely to jump to the eighth spot on the log standings. They are currently in the 12th spot with 14 points, eight behind the pace setters, Orbit College FC.
Venda Football Club will play against the University of Pretoria FC at Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday afternoon. The other fixtures are Orbit College FC vs JDR Stars, Hungry Lions vs Milford FC, Platinum City Rovers vs Upington City, Maritzburg United vs Pretoria Callies, Magesi FC vs Casric Stars, and Baroka FC vs NB La Masia.
