After a two-week break, teams in the Motsepe Foundation Championship return to action this weekend.
Venda Football Club (VFC) will once again be on the road, travelling to the Kanyamazane Stadium outside Nelspruit to face The Bees FC on Saturday afternoon. VFC's last outing was at the Olympia Stadium in Rustenburg, where they beat Lerumo Lions 1-0 on Sunday, 5 October.
According to head coach Clinton Larsen, his players are in the right frame of mind. He said the two away fixtures would help him gauge the team's readiness for the rest of the season.
Larsen added that the team had played several friendly matches against Betway Premiership and Motsepe Foundation Championship sides as part of their preparations for Saturday's clash. The former Magesi FC mentor said the friendlies had helped them identify effective combinations.
Underestimating The Bees, Larsen warned, would be a costly mistake. The Bees' last match was a 2-0 home victory over Upington City two weeks ago. They currently sit fourth on the log with 10 points, five behind leaders Milford FC. Should VFC win on Saturday, they could move from eighth to fourth position in the standings.
Also on Saturday, Black Leopards will host Kruger United at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
