Black Leopards are leaving no stone unturned in their preparations for their Motsepe Foundation Championship match against Pretoria Callies at the Tshwane University of Technology Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
A look at their recent form suggests Callies will be fortunate to secure a draw. Leopards remain confident in their promotion bid, following the appointment of head coach Zeca Marques earlier this month. They marked his arrival with a 3-0 victory over Cape Town Spurs at the Thohoyandou Stadium two weeks ago.
Callies will be seeking revenge after their 2-0 defeat to Leopards in the first round at the same venue on 28 September. They are among four teams fighting to avoid relegation.
Lidoda Duvha are seventh on the log with 26 points and could climb to fourth with a win on Saturday. Breaking through their defence - led by Sydney Fakude, Tshepo Matsimbi and captain Thendo Mukumela - will be no easy task for Callies' strikers.
It remains uncertain whether left back Siphelele Magubane will be available. He was stretchered off with a head injury in the match against Cape Town Spurs.
Other weekend fixtures: Venda Football Club vs University of Pretoria, Baroka vs Durban City, Orbit College vs Casric Stars, Upington City vs Leruma United, Highbury FC vs Milford FC, and JDR Stars vs Cape Town Spurs.
