After a break of two weeks, teams affiliated with the Motsepe Foundation Championship will be back in action this weekend. Five matches will be played on Saturday afternoon, with only two scheduled for Sunday. Only one match will be played on Friday afternoon.

Saturday's fixtures include the one between Venda Football Club (VFC) and Pretoria Callies, which will be played at the Thohoyandou Stadium. VFC and Pretoria have one thing in common: both are still to register a victory this season. VFC had played to a goalless draw in their opening league match against JDR Stars at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Their second fixture was against Upington City, to whom they lost 1-2. The team's head coach, Mr Joel Masutha, is optimistic that Callies will pay for their defeat against Upington City.

Unlike VFC, who already know the taste of defeat after playing only two matches, Callies shared the glory with their opponents in their two opening matches.

VFC's strikers, Edmore Chirambadara and Adepoju Babatunde, are expected to cause havoc for the Callies defence, while Tatenda Tavengwa and Kgomotso Mariba will make things happen in the middle of the park.

Black Leopards will visit the newly promoted Orbit College FC at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg in one of the two Sunday fixtures. Orbit College are still to drop a league point so far. They managed to collect the maximum points in their first two matches.

Baroka FC will be away to face JDR Stars at the Soshanguve Giant Stadium outside Pretoria. Magesi FC will be on the road too. They will battle for vital league points against NB La Masia at the Wits Campus Stadium in Johannesburg. Milford FC will entertain the University of Pretoria at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban. The other fixtures are Platinum City Rovers vs Marumo Gallants, Hungry Lions vs Upington City and Maritzburg United vs Casric Stars.
