The semi-final and final matches of the RN Makhadi Soccer Challenge will be played at Makhuvha Stadium on Saturday.
The day's programme will start with the match between FC Basel and Mbahe Freedom Rebels at 09:00. FC Basel's journey to the final was not an easy one. They defeated Tshamutilikwa Fireboys 1-0 in their quarter-final round match at Sterkstroom Grounds last Saturday. Freedom Rebels beat Sterkstroom Real Chiefs 4-2 on their way to the final. The winner was determined through a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time.
The second semi-final match between Muraga Hazard Hot Spurs and Mukoma All Stars will follow at 11:00. Hot Spurs had beaten Makhuvha All Stars 2-1 in their quarter-final round match to advance to the next round. The only goal came towards the end of their game against Vhudimbilu Roadblock, which was enough for Mukoma All Stars to secure a place in the final.
Teams that are eliminated in the semi-final round will meet in a losers' final match scheduled to start at 13:00, while the winners will compete later in the afternoon.
The tournament is named after a local football legend, Mr Nnditsheni Ronald Makhadi.
