Will the Vultures fly over Mukondeni’s Chiefs?

The ABC Motsepe League's Limpopo Stream is nearing its thrilling conclusion, with teams fiercely competing for promotion or to avoid relegation. Unbeaten Mpheni Defenders lead the charge as they prepare for a crucial match against Lebash Football Academy.

With most teams in the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League left with five matches before the end of the season, the race for promotion — or to avoid relegation — remains wide open.

Pace-setters Mpheni Defenders must beat Lebash Football Academy when they meet at Mpheni Grounds on Saturday to strengthen their promotion bid. Mpheni Defenders, also known as Up The Bulls, remain unbeaten this season, winning ten of their 14 matches played to date (midweek match against The Dolphins FC excluded).

After beating Lebash Football Academy 1–0 last Saturday, Mukondeni Young Chiefs face another challenge when they host White Vultures at Makhado Show Grounds on Saturday. Meanwhile, Phalaborwa United will host Vondwe XI Bullets at Lulekani Stadium.

Players to watch for Bullets are Phathutshedzo Nemagovhani and Khathutshelo Madzhuta, who scored when Bullets beat Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC (TTM) 2–0 last Saturday. Phalaborwa United are looking to recover after a 1–0 defeat at the hands of Musina United at Musina Rugby Stadium.

TTM will entertain Baduzah Celtics at Tshifulanani Stadium on Sunday. Players such as Muhluri Hlungwani and Zwanga Makhadi could trouble the Celtics’ defence if not well contained.

Other fixtures include Nkowankowa Continentals vs Musina United, and The Dolphins FC vs Tzaneen United.
