Teams in the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League are preparing for another busy weekend, with the standout clash set to be the meeting between Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) and Mpheni Defenders at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Mpheni Defenders head into the match with unfinished business. TTM beat them 1-0 in their Nedbank Cup encounter at the Thohoyandou Stadium two weeks ago, and Defenders will be eager to settle the score. They started the new season strongly, hammering Vondwe XI Bullets 3-0 at the Mpheni Grounds last Saturday. TTM, meanwhile, opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Mukondeni Young Chiefs at the Makhado Show Grounds.
TTM head coach Lucky Nelukau did not hold back when speaking ahead of the match. He said Defenders would "be lucky if by chance they manage to hold them to a draw" and added that TTM intended to turn the Tshifulanani Stadium into their "slaughterhouse."
Elsewhere, Vondwe XI Bullets will host Musina United at the Makonde Stadium. Musina started the season with a goalless draw against Baduzah Celtics. Mukondeni Young Chiefs face a tough trip to Phalaborwa, where they meet Phalaborwa United at the Phalaborwa United Sports Ground. Despite being newcomers, Phalaborwa United made a strong start, beating The Dolphins FC 1-0 in Senwabarwana.
Tzaneen United, fresh from a 3-1 victory over neighbours Nkowankowa Continentals, will take on Lebash Football Academy at the Nkowankowa Stadium. White Vultures and Baduzah Celtics will round off the weekend fixtures at the Selwane Sports Complex outside Phalaborwa.
