This weekend marks the start of the league programme for teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League.
After losing 1-0 to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) in their Nedbank Cup match at Thohoyandou Stadium last Sunday, Mpheni Defenders face another challenge when they host Vondwe XI Bullets at Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Mpheni Defenders and Bullets have unfinished business. Last season, the results of their two league encounters were decided in the boardroom after the games were abandoned. Bullets will be fortunate to hold Defenders to a draw if their performance against TTM is anything to go by. Containing the likes of Meshack Maphangule, Freedom Nyundu, and Lufuno Mulaudzi will be no easy task for the Bullets defenders.
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will begin the new season with an away fixture against Mukondeni Young Chiefs at the Makhado Show Grounds. Musina United travel to Phalaborwa to face Baduzah Celtics at Lulekani Stadium.
Phalaborwa United will take on The Dolphins at the Phalaborwa United Sports Grounds. The Tzaneen derby between Nkowankowa Continentals and Tzaneen United will be played at Nkowankowa Stadium outside Tzaneen. Residents of Senwabarwana can look forward to top-class football when their home team, Lebash Football Academy, faces White Vultures at Senwabarwana Sports Complex.
City and Royal Tigers will battle for points at Jane Furse Stadium in the Sekhukhune area. Other fixtures include Ditlou FC vs Ramatlaohle Mogalakwena United, Mighty FC vs University of Limpopo FC, Mohlabile United vs Tubatse United, Gosebo United vs Mokopane PJ Stars, and Makotopong Bahumi vs Eleven Fast Tigers.
