The struggle for promotion and to escape the relegation axe will continue this weekend among the teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League. Three fixtures are scheduled for Friday afternoon, with the remaining matches set to be played on Saturday.
All roads will lead to the Mpheni Grounds in the Elim area on Saturday, where the much-awaited match between Mpheni Defenders and White Vultures will take place. Both teams are in joyous spirits after collecting the maximum points from their matches last weekend.
Defenders were dominant in their 4-0 thrashing of Winners Park at the Makhado Show Grounds, while the only goal in the game between Vultures and Musina unitted, which came towards the end of the game, was enough for Vultures to grab the full points at the expense of Musina United.
Mpheni Defenders and White Vultures are among the top four teams in the standings. Vultures must keep an eye on the Defenders' key players—Freedom Nyundu, Lufuno Mulaudzi, and Halatedzi Matumba—or they risk conceding an avalanche of goals.
Munaca FC will entertain United Artists at the Makhado Show Grounds. This will be the third consecutive away fixture for United Artists. They are strong travellers, having risen to the occasion and holding Nkowankowa Continentals to a goalless draw at the Nkowankowa Stadium outside Tzaneen last Saturday.
The pace-setters, Vondwe XI Bullets, will face Maruleng Celtic at the Mankoko Stadium outside Hoedspruit. Black Leopards and Winners Park will meet at Polokwane's Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Musina United will battle it out against Tzaneen United at the Musina Old Mine Stadium, while Nkowankowa Continentals and Tlhotlhokwe Golden Syrup will face off at the Nkowankowa Stadium outside Tzaneen.
The other fixtures are: Ditlou FC vs Royal Pirates, Tubatse United vs Sun Rise FC, and City Motors vs The Dolphins FC.
